About Us

My mission:

Ever since I was a young girl art has attracted me. I can even remember the first time I truly interacted with it; I was ten years old and attended to a father-daughter workshop at the MoMa in New York.

I developed my interest in art mostly during my high school years, I learnt where my artistic abilities stood out the most and artists and different techniques and movements.

I eventually realized that art is a form of expression, of feelings, concerns and communication.

Later on in my life I developed an interest towards feminism, and researched the most I could about this topic. I personally understand feminism as being sisterhood towards women from all social, economic and cultural backgrounds.

Once I fused both interests I looked more into where I'm from, Latin America, and realized how underpriced female artists are here while being truly talented.

I decided to put into practice  my understanding of feminism in a field I am very much passionate about: art, and that was how LatArt.org was born.

With LatArt, I hope that female artists in Latin America are recognized the way that each and one of them deserve while also showcasing my own art (in the "Who Am I?" tab).

I hope you enjoy the website and learn lots about Latinx female artists!
